Through my work I like to invite people to see the beauty and magic that is present in the world around us, if we take a moment to pause and look closely.
A lover of art already as a child, I have been drawn to museums and to drawing myself for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Europe I’ve been very fortunate to be able to see and admire so many great works and varying styles in person. My personal taste which is reflected in my work has evolved from very classical to contemporary. Where before I appreciated the extraordinary skill, which I still do of course, I started to appreciate more and more art that added something of the maker. Not a photocopy as it were but a painting that is a personal view and an individual expression.
I apply myself mostly to abstract expressionism and contemporary art in general.
As for abstract expressionism next to expressing myself I love how different other people will see and feel different things in each of my paintings. I also like to create open colorful landscapes where the viewer has the space to interpret what they see in their own way, and feel whatever that evokes. In other works I focus more on the beauty that I see around me, mainly being based on the natural world. I would love to encourage the viewer to do the same, to take a moment to see the beauty and magic that is in the world if we pause and look closely.
